The Document Centre 286 can be upgraded to include a scanning function capable of scanning documents at a rate of 50ipm (monochrome). Its standard duplexing features combined with up to 600dpi x 600dpi resolution also ensure crisp clear images ready for output.

Scan to FTP / SMB

Documents scanned using the DC286 can be directly transferred to a designated directory on an FTP server using FTP protocol. Alternatively, users can also transfer their scanned images directly into the shared folder of any Windows client on the same network using SMB protocol.

Scan to E-mail & File Formats

Scanned documents can also be sent as attachments to any single or multiple nominated e-mail addresses within or outside the organization. These attachments can be saved in a number of industry standard formats including PDF, TIFF, JPEG etc. Larger documents consisting of multiple pages can also be broken down and sent separately.

Light Directory Access Protocol (LDAP)

Mesin foto copy merupakan salah satu perangkat electronik yang berfungsi mendupikasikan dokumen.Ide dasar foto copy adalah bayangan,dimana kita ketahui jika kita terkena cahaya maka kita mempunyai bayangan.Bayangan ini yang nantinya ditransfer kesebuah media dan selanjutnya diReproduksi sebagai hasil yang kita lihat sehari-hari.

Penemu Mesin Foto Copy

Mesin Foto Copy pertamakali ditemukan oleh CHESTER F CARLSON. Asal negeri Paman Sam,Amerika Serikat. Chester F Carlson lahir 18 februari 1906 dikawasan kumuh kota seattle,Washigton.semenjak kecil dia harus ikut membantu orangtuanya mendapatkan uang.untuk membiayai pengobatan ayahnya yang mengidam penyakit Tuberculosis.Saat berusia 17 tahun ia harus menelan pil pahit,ibunya meninggal dan selang empat tahun ayahnya juga meninggal,walaupun masa kecilnya hidup penuh tantangan carlson mampu menyelesaikan carir intelektualnya hingga menyelesaikan bangku kuliahnya.Setelah lulus dari Calivornia Insitute of Tecknology,carlson bekerja disebuah perusahaan analisis paten untuk membuat produk electronik.Tugas nya pada saat itu menyalin semua dokumen dengan gambar paten kebeberapa dokumen.Dalam melakukan pekerjaanya Carlson merasa jenuh dan bosan, untuk menulis hal yang sama dan berulang-ulang untuk didokumentasikan temuan orang lain.karena kelelahan kemudian carlson berpikir,bagaimana ia bisa menggandakan dokumen dengan cepat dan praktis.Iapun membaca beberapa referensi tentang mesin cetak. dia menemukan konsep Electrofotografi yang sekarang kita kenal foto copy.

Pada tahun 1938,dia membuat eksperimen kecil yang memanfatkan bubuk jelaga (karbon) dan penyinaran cahaya dan memindahkan suaatu tulisan dari suatu medium kemedium lainya.ia juga menggunakan konsep poto conduktivity,sebuah proses perubahan electron,jika terkena cahaya .dengan intinya dengan bayangan gambar dapat diproses menjadi suatu image.Gambar bisa digandakan dengan proses perubahan electron tersebut sebagian besar literatur menyebutkan,temuan carlson menciptakan proses mengcopi dengan menggunakan energi electro statik,yaitu xenograpy.Kemudian pada tahun 1942 teknik ini dipatenkan,selama beberapa tahun ia berusaha menyempurnakan temuannya itu.Meski sanagat berguna ,mesin electrofotografi ini tidak diminati banyak orang,karena mesin ciptaanya tidak menjanjikan masa depan bagi kehidupan orang.carlson yang berhasil membuat alat ini harus berjualan konsep bertahun-tahun lamaya agar mesin foto copy itu dapat dijual dipasaran,berbagai perusahaan besar seperti kodak yang menjual peralatan proses pemotretan.IBM dan general Electrik,menolak temuan itu.

Setelah hampir putus asa,charlson mendapat mitra pertama Batelle Memorial Insitute yang bersedia memodali dengan dana dan usaha dan bersama-sama meyakinkan Haloid,sebuah perusahaan menegah Haloid Corporation,Newyork yang menjual kertas foto mau menjadi mitranya untuk mengembangkan temuannya.Haloid Company kemudian merubah nama mesin foto copy pertama electrogafi karena dianggap kurang memiliki nilai jual,lalu diusulkan dengan nama Xerography.Xerography menjadi komersial setelah diadopsi oleh Xerox Corporation.Salah satu produk awal Xerox adalah xerox 941,mesin foto copy pertama yang otomatis pertama yang menggunakan proses Xenography.Dinamai Xerox 941 untuk merujuk dalam kemampuan mesin dalam mengkopi kertas dengan ukuran 9 inci x 14 inci (229mm x 356mm).

Xerox 914,yang dapat mengkopi hingga 100 ribu kertas perbulan,sangat populer dikawasan masyarakat pada masa itu.Produk menyumbang pendapatan perusahaan hingga 60 juta dollar AS.Kesuksesan itu membuat perusahaan memutuskan merubah namanya dari Haloid menjadi Xerox pada 1958.Hingga kini xerox merupakan mesin foto copy dan printer terkemuka didunia.Produk yang dihasilkan perusahaan yang kini bermarkas di stamford,Conectticut,AS itu pada 2006 lalu berhasil membukukan pendapatan 15,9 miliar dolar AS.Jumlah karyawannya mencapai 53.700 orang tersebar didunia. Chester Carlson meninggal pada 9 september 1968,di Rochester,New York karena penyakit hati yang kronis.Berkat temuannya melalui mesin foto copy,chester carlson telah menemukan car yang merombak paradigma penulis ulangan sebuah dokument,hingga sekarang proses ini tidak dapat ditinggalkan dalamkehidupan modern hingga hari ini.
